The overall aim of this web site is to facilitate a more effective promotion for the arts, both traditional and contemporary, in the public sector by developing a strategy which recognizes the great work that has already been undertaken by public authorities (specifically focusing on the "Per Cent For Art" schemes administered by the Department of the Environment and the Office of Public Works) and supporting artist and community led initiatives developed through engagement with local issues and contexts.
It is hoped that the observations of this site will help to throw light on:
- Public Art in Co. Clare, which has over 67 pieces of permanent sculpture on exhibit
- A database containing information about artists working in Co Clare.
- Shop facilities with Paypal allowing access for Co Clare artists to sell their work on the World Wide Web.
